Dick Tracy, Calling Dick Tracy.

Do you remember Dick Tracy the cartoon?

"The hard-hitting, fast-shooting, and supremely intelligent police detective of the 1930s."

He had a hard face with some serious straight lines. If he was real he could have used his own chin or nose a ruler! I suppose that's what you needed to look like to be a good detective then.
One of the great things about the cartoon was his watch. It was a 2-way radio giving him contact with the police, none of this 999 crap.
Now if i am correct this would be the first hint towards mobile phone technology, way before Kirk or Spock were flipping the tops of their communicators asking a portly scotsman to beam them up.
(By the way i just found this while googling scotty)

Im sure at some point during his fictional life Dick must have been thinking to himself "why can't i get this damn thing to call that girl i met at the bar last night". Well Dick your prayers have been answered.
It comes in the form of a mobile wrist watch produced by LG.

It has a 1.3 inch full touch screen, 3G+ connectivity, Video call capabilities, Bluetooth, MP3 player and Voice recognition software. Not bad hey.

"The LG GD910 3G Watch Phone brings a serious sci-fi vibe into your life. With a full touch screen, a built-in camera, a built-in speaker, Bluetooth, and a voice recognition system, this bionic gadget can play music, take photos, work as a diary and a scheduler, read back your text messages or make video-calls. And of course, it tells the time."
