The Tube, The Underground, The f$%king pain in the ass every weekend.

The London Underground opened its first train section in 1863 making it the first underground railway system in the world, then in 1890 the first to run electric trains.

What is it recently with the tube having engineering works nearly every weekend especially on the Metropolitan line. That is my train line, it get's me from Harrow to the Baker street. I do have the Chiltern line but that turns up every 30-40 mins and then i have to walk to Baker street any way to catch my connecting train!
It is meant to be the third busiest metro system in Europe after Paris and Moscow and in 2007 more than one billion passenger journeys were recorded, so why the hell all the works? And why an entire Easter weekend of works from Good Friday till Easter Monday, surely with all the tourists predicted to come over for the holiday why shut it down for soo long, why why why why!!
I want to go on and on but I will just get boring and repetitive so I shall leave it at that......until next weekend most probably.
